Dancing with Shadows

In this class, we will dance to reveal our shadow, attending to the small, imperceptible forces that act upon and guide us. We will move together through butoh imagery and group tuning, making space for new pathways to emerge in our bodies and minds. 

Madelyn Sher is a New York-based performer and choreographer. She is a member of Vangeline Theater and weaves butoh, contemporary dance, and theater together in her research and compositions. She finds interest in the rhythms of change, loving and losing, and the bond between language, imagination, and movement. Madelyn holds an MFA in Choreography and Performance from Smith College.
