A new work commissioned by Lincoln Center and created for the Milstein Reflecting Pool at Hearst Plaza, Naiad Metal is a Butoh solo by Vangeline that merges ancient myth with modern architecture. Emerging within water and reflection, the body becomes both figure and landscape—soft yet reflective, vulnerable yet enduring. The performance unfolds as a quiet ritual encounter, transforming the outdoor space into a site of contemplation. The choreographic work features stunning costumes by Machine Dazzle with music by Michael Shannon.
