THE VANGELINE THEATER

The Vangeline Theater (NYC) is a dance company firmly rooted in the tradition of Japanese Butoh while carrying it into the 21st century.

Venues and festivals where Vangeline Theater's works have been presented in New York include Joyce SoHo, the Kitchen, Abrons Arts Center, White Wave, Dance Theater Workshop, Here Arts Center, Triskelion Arts, and PS122 Performance Space.

The company has received support from the New York Department of Cultural Affairs, the Japan Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York Council on the Arts, the Puffin Foundation, Brooklyn Arts Council, the Asian American Arts Alliance, and the Friedman Foundation.

The Vangeline Theater performs free Butoh offerings in public places in New York to offer our energy to the city. We support other performers and curate mixed performances of danse, music, and theatre. We partner regularly with Jackie Factory and the Howl! Gallery.

The Vangeline Theater is a 501c3 charitable organization.
